Di Canio Was Close To Leaving Swindon Town

Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio has revealed he almost quit Swindon Town about 45 days ago moments after Town won promotion back to League One.

Di Canio did not elaborate on why he was set to walk out but said he was set to leave the club and the only reason he didn`t was because he has promised the Swindon Town fans and board promotion.

Di Canio did go on to say that had he left the team he would have left was quite capable of losing all its remaining fixtures as well as slipping out of the playoff spots as highlighted by the fact the team had been poor the last 2 games.

Whilst we can only speculate, it appears that Di Canio is not happy with the players at his disposal at the moment.

Paolo said that he needed 2 more seasons to get Swindon to the Championship and that the current squad need to drastically improve if they are to secure the League Two title.
