Kennedy And Gabilondo Leave County Ground

Defender Callum Kennedy and winger Lander Gabilondo will be looking for a new club after being told they would not be receiving a new contract following winning the League Two Championship.

Kennedy started off as Town`s number one left back before being replaced by Liam Ridehalgh, Alessandro Cibocchi and eventually Jay McEveley who looked destined to sign a permanent deal at the County Ground following a successful loan spell from Barnsley.

Gabilondo`s Town career started off brilliantly with fine performances against Bristol City and Oxford United before fizzling out away to Shrewsbury Town. Gabilondo would be in and out of the team without really making an impact and its no surprise that he will be looking for another club.

The departures of Gabilondo and Kenndy follows the earlier announcements that Phil Smith and Mark Scott will also be looking for a new club.

Vital Swindon Town wishes both players well.
