Billy Bodin To Sign For Torquay United

Billy Bodin To Sign For Torquay United

The Swindon Advertiser is this morning reporting that Billy Bodin is set to reject a new contract at Swindon Town and join League Two side Torquay United after the sides agreed a compensation package believed to be in the region of £70,000.

Town had earlier rejected a £40,000 offer from Torquay after Town interim chairman Jermey Wray called it "insufficient".

It had been expected for some time that the Welsh International would reject a new deal at the County Ground stating that he wanted first team football, something Town boss Paolo Di Canio does not promise ANY player.

Bodin spent a successful loan spell at Torquay last season and United boss Martin Ling made Bodin one of his number one targets for the off-season and it looks like he has finally landed his man.

Bodin has not travelled to Italy with the rest of the first team squad with the move set to be rubber stamped early this week.
