Verona Select XI 1 - Swindon Town 9
Swindon Town have got off to a winning start with an empathetic 9-1 win over their hosts a Verona Select XI today in Lake Garda Italy.
Luke Rooney scored a hat trick for Town, whilst new boys James Collins and Andy Williams got on the scoresheet with Collins scoring a brace against the home side.
Filippo Piasentin scored the only goal for the Verona Select XI after Lorenzo Zerbato was brought down by trialist Simone Materazzi, who was quickly replaced by Chris Smith following the incident.
