This is also a Conference record for a player paid by former manager Steve Evans for prolific striker Richard Brodie from York City. Brodie had scored 53 goals between 2007-2010 and big things were expected however this never materialised and Brodie was soon sent out on loan to Fleetwood Town and Morecambe.
