All quiet on the Caddis front

Last week, news surfaced that former Town captain Paul Caddis was on the verge of joining Championship outfit Birmingham City on a six-month loan deal.

However all of a sudden things have gone very, very quiet, with this deathly silence leaving many Swindon fans (such as myself) in an uncomfortable position.

Caddis played a huge part in The Robins promotion back to League 1, and the majority of fans are loathed to lose the services of the talented full back. Many came close to praying that the apparent feud between manager Paolo Di Canio and the former Scotland Under 21 International would come to a satisfying conclusion.

This did not happen, with reports from various sources claiming that the Scot would join Lee Clark's Birmingham side on a temporary deal until January. Now, unfortunately for the Town fans who are trying to clutch to the remaining pieces of belief that Caddis will still be a Red after September 1st, many have forgotten that the loan window remain open, and even though a long term loan deal is out of the question, Caddis could still very well leave on a one, two or even three month loan.

So, as we all sit nervously in our lounge chairs, refreshing sky sports news every few hours to see if we are about to lose one of our best assets, only Paolo and Paul know what is really going on, leaving us all in limbo.
