Rose: My Taunt Was A Step Too Far

Rose: My Taunt Was A Step Too Far

Former Swindon Town left back Michael Rose admitted he went too far with his reaction after scoring the winning goal against Swindon on Tuesday night.

Rose had been the target of abuse from many Town fans for his pathetic performances in a Town shirt which ultimately saw the club relegated to League Two, two seasons ago.

Rose told the press after the match, the cup to his ear was in response to the fans who taunted Rose about his wife.

Rose hardly received any abuse apart from a few boo`s but after scoring the abuse became sickly at times with comments about Rose`s wife and a former Swindon player during his time at Town.

Rose admitted after the match he went too far, "The hand gesture I made towards their fans after I scored was a bit of frustration and maybe I went too far with that.

Rose finished by saying "But some of them had said things about me and about my wife and my goal was my way of showing them my response."

Colchester won the game 1-0.
