'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chris Smith Joins Northampton Town

Swindon Town defender Chris Smith has joined Northampton Town on a month long loan.

Northampton boss Aidy Boothroyd said that Smith's arrival will help the Cobblers with their defender shortage.

Boothroyd said, 'With the loan window closing and injuries to John Johnson and David Artell, I felt we needed another defender in the squad to see us through a hectic run of games.

Smith won the Samsung become a pro competition last year and made his first team debut for Swindon Town at Bradford City last season.

Smith has seen his chances limited this season and was on loan at Swindon Supermarine earlier on in the season.
