PDC Won't Bring Cox Or Rooney Back Into Squad

Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio has confirmed he will not use out of favour players Lee Cox or Luke Rooney to boost his squads numbers as the team travels to Colchester United tomorrow evening.

Paolo also said he won`t use any youth players and as a result he could have as little as 14 senior players available for tomorrows fixture.

Lee Cox was set to move to Northampton but that deal fell through prior to the transfer deadline whilst Luke Rooney was set to move on loan to Cheltenham Town in exchange for Marlon Pack.

The deal for Marlon Pack could still go ahead with Rooney heading in the other direction once the Football League allows Town to register players.

Swindon Advertiser reporter Sam Morshead confirmed to Vital Swindon Town that neither player has trained with the first team in a long time, which likely means neither player is up to the fitness Di Canio would expect from his players.

The emergency loan window opens on the 8th of February.
