Darren Ward New Caretaker Swindon Manager?
Rumours coming out of the County Ground this afternoon following a club statement saying that the current board would talk to senior members of the team over who they want to manage to team for the next 2 games have Defender Darren Ward taking over as caretaker manager of the club.
Ward joined Town on loan from Millwall in September last year before making the move permanent in January.
It would seem that Ward is highly respected by his peers and may now be given the managerial reigns for our upcoming matches against Preston North End and Bury.
In other developments physio Paul Godfrey has decided to remain with Swindon Town for now. Fabrizio Piccareta claimed that the whole technical staff including Godfrey would resign today however it looks as if Godfrey has decided to stay atleast for now until a new manager can get a medical team in place.
Jed McCrory the incoming spokesperson for the new consortium has also told Vital Swindon Town he has no plans to name Mike Newell first team manager of the club following the resignation of Paolo Di Canio.
