Johnstones Paint Trophy Draw

Swindon Town will find out who they are playing in the first round of the Johnstones Paint Trophy (ex- LDV Vans Trophy) tomorrow morning on Soccer A.M.

Swindon Town are in the Southern West section. There are a few changes this season to the competition.

Sadly for Swindon Town fans Conference clubs are not admitted this season meaning there will be no chance of us playing Oxford United in the competition.

16 sides have been given a bye to the second round.

After the second half if the score is tied the result will be decided on penalties with no extra time.

Swindon are in the same group as Bristol Rovers, Hereford, Shrewsbury, Swansea, Swindon, Torquay, Walsall, Wycombe. This move has been done to boost attendances for this competition.

The teams must also field most of their starting XI instead of reserve sides.

The final will once again be played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff making for a lucrative day out for the final two teams.
