McCormack Confirms Swindon Departure

Swindon Town captain Alan McCormack has confirmed he will leave Swindon Town to join League One rivals Brentford who defeated Town in the League One playoffs last season according to BBC Radio Wiltshire.

McCormack made over 95 appearances for Town scoring 2 goals after signing on a free from Charlton Athletic prior to last season`s League Two championship campaign.

McCormack was named captain after a very public falling out between then boss Paolo Di Canio and then-captain Paul Caddis.

MCCormack becomes the second Swindon captain to swap the County Ground for Griffin Park under similar circumstances to Jonathan Douglas.

Darren Ward is the favourite to be named captain for the forthcoming League One campaign.
