Charlie Austin Fails Hull City Medical, Move Off

Former Swindon Towns striker Charlie Austin`s dream move to the Premier League is dead in the water….. for now.

Austin was set to make a £4.5 switch the Premier League new boys Hull City however he failed his medical late last night.

It is thought that the re-occurrence of Austin`s dislocated shoulder has cancelled the move which doesn`t look to be revived.

Hull manager Steve Bruice explained the situation to Talksport this morning.

'It's an awful situation we find ourselves in but the medical is not great so it looks as if it is a non-starter at the moment. I think he is surprised because he has not missed many games over the last couple of years.

'It is a blow for him and a blow for us but these medicals are so stringent and obviously he has got a problem.'

Austin is now expected to begin the season with Football League Championship side Burnley and may now agree to extend his contract after a late offer was made by Burnley to keep the prolific striker at Turf Moor.
