Woan Sacked By Rushden & Diamonds

Former Swindon Town player and Youth Manager Ian Woan has been let go by Rushden And Diamonds just months after joining the Conference Outfit.

Woan returned to Swindon Town under former manager Andy King 2 season's ago and was working with the youth squad at Swindon.

With the arrival of Dennis Wise in the summer, Woan felt he would be released by Swindon and took a job alongside former Nottingham Forest player Paul Hart as a first team coach to improve his coaching skills.

Rushden have only managed 16 points this season and sit 17th in the Conference Table and a change was needed if the club were to have a change to make an instant return to the Football League.

Speaking to the official Rushden and Diamonds Website, Rushden Chairman Helen Thompson said, 'We are sorry to part company with Paul and his team, but this is a results orientated business and realistically the results have not been good enough.'
