'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Smith: I'm Swindon's New Number 1

Phil Smith is determined to be Swindon Town's number 1 whilst regular goalkeeper Peter Brezovan is out of action with a broken arm.

Speaking to the local media Smith said, 'There is always the chance that someone else will come in and they are going to want to play.

'I want to play too, so the only thing I can do is take my opportunity, play well and make sure I don't give anyone else the chance to take the shirt.'

'I've done well for the last two years and have been looking to progress into this league. I had not been far off it with little bits of interest from clubs at this level.

'My performances have been good for the clubs I have been at, but people don't see it as football as such, because it is non-league.' Smith finished.
