Roberts: Life Goes On

Swindon Town striker Christian Roberts says the loss of Dennis Wise is a massive blow, however life goes on and focus shifts to Saturday.

Speaking to the media after a turbulent day at the County Ground Roberts said 'If you asked all 25 members of the squad they will all tell you no-one wanted to see him go. He has had that much of an impact at this club.'

Roberts admitted himself and the rest of the squad were not expecting Wise to leave so soon. 'It has come as a bolt out of the blue and its very disappointing to say the least. It is a massive blow but we have to keep the professionalism at the club and deal with it the best way we can and that is by continuing to win football matches.'

Roberts says he knows what troubled times are after his battle with alcoholism last season. 'It is devastating but life goes on, I should know that more than me after what I have gone through in the last 12 months.' The co-captain said.

In regards to Caretaker manager Dave Tuttle who was brought in by Wise Roberts said the players have respect for Tuttle and will listen to him. 'I have respect for Tutts, we all do. We will listen to him and all do our best to win a very important game on Saturday.'Roberts finished.
