League 3, The Death Of Lower League Football

Last week FA Chairman announced the most ridiculous proposals to improve the England national team which would see Premier League clubs field 'B Teams' in the Football League.

As part of this a new division called Football League 3 would be formed with 10 Conference teams promoted into the League and 10 Premier League B Teams.

These plans are absolutely shambolic and do nothing but kiss the greedy backsides of Premier League clubs.

The solution was actually named in the plans and that was to limit the amount of foreign players in the starting XI in the Premier League, this enables that top players will be playing in the best league in the world and be ready for the national team.

Let's be honest here, the plans state no B teams can get promoted above League One. This leaves us in a scenario where you could potentially have 10 B Teams in the top of League One.

This would mean you would have the top 10 teams who can't get promoted then if we use the current format would mean teams 11-13 getting promoted to the Championship then 14th-17th heading into the play-offs.

Another scenario could see No promotion AT ALL from League One, meaning Premier League 2 is effectively formed as its a closed shop and teams couldn't be relegated.

No one will ever convince us that players who play in League One will all of a sudden be able to make the jump from either League One to the Premier League or League One to the England national team.

This stupid plan has so many flaws. The problem is clubs like Chelsea, Man United and Man City stockpiling talent. As they have so much talent, coaches don't get the chance to nurture talent like they should and help them.

Wasn't the St. George Academy in Burton supposed to sort the England team? Another waste of money.

Another part of the plan would see B Teams playing in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The tinpot trophy as many fans call it, is a lowe league clubs only chance realistically to make Wembley and now the Premier League and Dyke are happy to take that away so we can see Arsenal B V Man United B in the JPT Final

The arrogance and ignorance of Dyke and the Premier League is a direct slap in the face to any lower league fan, club or chairman who passionately follow their team week in and week out.

Fans need to make it clear LEAGUE 3 is a no go.
