Torquay/Swindon Town Incident

Torquay United have been reported to the FA after an incident at the Swindon Town/Torquay match on Saturday at Plainmoor.

Some Torquay fans were upset at the referee's decision to award a penalty to Swindon and a fan in the home end, spat at the assistant referee.

We encourage that if any Swindon Town supporters have any information in regards to this disgraceful act to contact Torquay United Football Club.

Statement From Torquay United F.C

Torquay United have been reported to the Football Association following an incident at the Swindon Town match on Saturday.

The match referee has stated in his report that 'whilst walking off the pitch the Assistant Referee was spat on by a person occupying the home supporters area.'

If anyone was witness to, or has any information, concerning this incident please contact Debbie Hancox in writing at the usual club address (At the bottom of the page), by telephone on 01803 328666 or via email to gullsfc@aol.com. All information received will be treated in the strictest confidence.

This incident could have serious repercusions for the Club. Torquay United Supporters are some of the Football League's best behaved. Please do not let one idiot ruin your reputation!
