Nationwide End Swindon Sponsorship

Swindon based Nationwide Building Society has today announced its decision not to continue sponsorship of Swindon Town Football Club.

Nationwide has been sponsors of Swindon Town`s kit since 1997 after the contract with Castrol Oils ended. Nationwide Building Society will cease so sponsor the club as of the end of the current season.

Swindon Town Finance Director Sandy Gray commented of Nationwide`s decision to not continue their sponsorship of the club 'We have had a fantastic relationship with Nationwide over the course of a decade and they have stood by the football club through some very difficult times.

'Although we must now secure a new club sponsor, it is great to know that we will continue to have a healthy dialogue with Nationwide going forward.'

What a joke, they have their head office and employ a high percentage of people living in swindon and yet pull the sponsorship on the local team. Wh yhave a healthy dialogue if they are no longer willing to sposor the club.
