Monkhouse Set To Leave?

Swindon Town midfielder Andy Monkhouse, who is on loan to Hartlepool has admitted he would love for the move to Hartlepool to be permanent.

Monkhouse who arrived at the County Ground under former boss Dennis Wise had been out of action due to an injury and found it difficult to get back into the Swindon team.

Hartlepool have yet to lose with Monkhouse in the team and have enjoyed a resurgence up the table

Speaking to the local media Monkhouse said, 'Things are going really well here, we have won four games and I am playing regular first-team football and enjoying myself.'

'When I first went, Paul Sturrock said he wanted me to get fit, after my hamstring injury, and then said he wanted me back at Swindon.

'I haven't heard anything since so at the moment I guess I will be returning after the weekend.

'I expect the two clubs will be talking and I will be delighted if a deal is sorted out for me to stay here longer.

'The injury is fine now and like I said at the moment I am very happy here but we will have to wait and see what develops.' Monkhouse concluded.

With Sofienne Zaaboub and Aaron Brown performing well a move for Monkhouse may be best for both parties.

Monkhouse likely would not get into the side and Town would have more money to spend in the transfer market in January as Town continue their promotion push.
