'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sturrock Discusses Swindon Transfers

Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has updated fans with the latest news on transfers.

Andy Monkhouse - 'Andy Monkhouse is having a medical this afternoon at Hartlepool United and he will be joining them subject to a successful medical. I have heard people mutter why sell him to a promotion rival - but football is football. If he had stayed here he may have found himself down the pecking order, and we don't want that sort of player in our reserves. We have got money for him and having weighed up the options I thought it was the best decision for the club.'

Sofiene Zaaboub - 'Sofiene Zaaboub has progressed very well and it looks as though he will be putting pen to paper on a deal to keep him here until the end of next season. He has now committed to this club and he has great potential. He is the right type of player and has excited the fans since his arrival.'

Kyle Critchell - 'Kyle Critchell played for the reserves at Yeovil on Tuesday, but there are a few discussions to have before I make a decision on him. I have to talk to his agent, Southampton and my coaching staff before we do anything else'

Blair Sturrock - 'Blair is another decision we have to make. He has been out ten months but he has looked sharp in training and he has never let us down when he has come on. I will do what is best for the football club because that is number one.'

Luke Rodgers 'Luke Rodgers was set a deadline and that has now passed without action. I haven't heard from him or his agent and it seems as though it is a dead deal.'
