NEWS: Monkhouse A Pools Player

Andy Monkhouse is now officially a Hartlepool United player after passing his physical today at Hartlepool.

Monkhouse has a successful loan period at Hartlepool and made it clear that he would be more than happy to stay at United.

Hartlepool United manager Danny Wilson was quick to give his thoughts on the transfer.

'From our perspective, we liked what he did when he was here and we're delighted to welcome him back.

'He adds a great balance on the left for us and adds competition for places in the squad which is essential.

'The more players we have the stronger the squad will get and I think this is a good signing for us.

'I think the fans took to him while he was here, the players certainly did and that is a bonus too.

'He came here and felt comfortable in the surroundings and with everyone at the Club and hopefully he can do well here.'

The Swindon Town board have given manager Paul Sturrock the all clear to use the fee for Monkhouse on adding to the playing squad.
