Play-offs To Be At Cardiff

Should Swindon Town make the play-offs at the end of the season it looks likely they will be at Cardiff and not Wembley Stadium.

'The FA has been unable to give the sort or assurances the League needs,' a League insider told the BBC Sports Website.

'The League was very keen to hold the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in April as a warm-up event but the FA wanted to stage its own warm-up events to be sure of the Cup final and the League had to move it to Cardiff.

'And now it looks very likely the same will happen to the play-offs.'

Many fans were looking forward to going to the new Wembley at the end of the season but now it looks as if fans will have to wait until next season.

With a bit of luck Swindon will get automatic promotion anyway and the play-offs will not be a factor.
