Preston In Team Of The Week (3/10/17)

Preston In Team Of The Week (3/10/17)

Swindon Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Matt Preston in the two nil victory over Cambridge United at the weekend at the County Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Preston was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Swindon went into their County Ground clash with Cambridge United without a home clean sheet, and with the worst home defensive record in the division. Preston came into the heart of the defence to make his debut for the Robins, and he stood firm alongside his defensive colleagues to help shut out the U`s in a 2-0 triumph.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Preston for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Mark Oxley (Southend United), Ethan Ebanks-Landell (MK Dons), Matt Preston (Swindon Town), Nathaniel Knight-Percival (Bradford City), Kamil Grosicki (Hull City), Tariqe Fosu (Charlton Athletic), Jack Payne (Oxford United), James Maddison (Norwich City), Ivan Cavaleiro (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Danny Rose (Mansfield Town), Jayden Stockley (Exeter City).

Manager - Leonid Slutsky (Hull City).
