Swindon's Andy Nicholas Arrested

Swindon Town defender Andy Nicholas has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after crashing his car at a roundabout.

Nicholas had apparently been out with team mates and had crashed his Saab into a roundabout sign in Whitehill Way near Asda in West Swindon.

Police confirmed that a man had been arrested but would not confirm the identity.

'All I can say is a 23-year-old male was arrested and charged with drink-driving and will be appearing at Swindon Magistrates' Court on February 15.' Police Said.

Nicholas had been a regular in Paul Sturrock's side after an broken cheek bone forced Jamie Vincent to the sidelines.

Swindon Town Football Club can confirm that Andy Nicholas was arrested on suspicion of drink driving on Wednesday 7th February 2007.

The club is aware of the situation and his conduct comes under the club's internal disciplinary code.

No further comment will be made until after the court hearing has taken place.

He gets what he deserves, there is no excuse - especially with the salary he is on.

no different to what pooks did and he is still at the club, don't condone it but he will be dealt with by the courts.
