Swindon Could Secure Playoffs Today

Swindon Town are guaranteed at least a spot in the League 2 playoffs should they win today and Shrewsbury Town lose.

Town currently sit third place in League 2, 4 points below 2nd placed Walsall and 6 point behind league leaders Hartlepool United.

Should MK Dons beat Shrewsbury today and Swindon beat Torquay then Town will secure a place in the League 2 playoffs regardless of how results go from now until the end of the season.

Swindon Town fans will be hoping for a Swindon Town win and a Shewsbury win as this would open the gap up wider between third and fourth in the League 2 table. Swindon currently sit 3 points above 4th place MK Dons going into todays game.

Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has made it clear he wants his side to get promoted automatically and not face the lottery of the playoffs even if it could mean a big pay day at the new 90,000 Wembley Stadium.
