Paul Sturrock gave his thoughts after Swindon Town beat Mansfield 2-0 this afternoon in front of over 10,000 Swindon fans at the County Ground and put Swindon within a point of Promotion.
'Our fans were fantastic right the way through the game and wouldn't it be great to have that kind of support open every week. The players could see the Stratton Bank full and that made a real difference today.
I am disappointed we didn't get a few more goals but it's how things go. Barry did very, very well and he's a better player than people give him credit for. He has a great attitude - although he could have been sent off after being booked so early.
Sofi had a torrid twenty minutes but then he put the cross in for the second goal. I think Barry's aerial threat had something to do with the second goal.
he manager named the same starting eleven that had faced Bury last weekend - with Jack Smith now available again after suspension.
We had to make a few changes because people were running on fumes at the end. Christian and Sofi were changed. In terms of where we go from here, I have a huge decision to make. Do I change this Swindon Town team? Ashley Westwood did very well today but we now have Jack Smith available again.'
own head to Bristol Rovers next weekend knowing that an automatic promotion place is there for the taking, although the manager urges caution going into the final stages.
I honestly believe that MK Dons will not lose a game from now until the end of the season. We knew the MK score at half-time but we can't legislate for what happens elsewhere.
Walsall lost today too, so who knows what could happen in the last few games. It's going to be an interesting few weeks that's for sure. I just hope it doesn't go down to the Walsall game because that would be e nervy affair.
We have to be very professional in our approach next week and do what we have to do.
There will be a barbeque this week though,'
