Roberts/Allen Set To Stay

Swindon Town striker Christian Roberts and second year scholar Chris Allen are the first players to start contract negotiations at the County Ground.

Roberts who joined Town from local rivals Bristol City during the 2004/05 season, had a good season overall and was the hero Saturday against Walsall when Town secured promotion back to League One.

Roberts has revealed his agent has already started discussions with the club and that manager Paul Sturrock has told Roberts he wants him to stay.

Chris Allen made an impression for the reserves and in the FA Youth Cup this season and will be rewarded with a professional contract.

The Swindon Advertiser reports that Jon Stewart, Luke Hopper, Ben Wells, and Scott Doe will be released by the club.
