Swindon Release Seven Players

Seven Swindon Town Players have been told they will not be back for the 2007/08 season in League One.

Luke Hopper, Jonathan Stewart and Scott Doe will not be offered professional contracts

Gareth Whalley who featured in only 2 games this season has accepted a severance package from Swindon Town and has now finally departed the club.

Aaron Brown who has been the centre of controversy twice this season has been told he will not be invited back to play for Town next season. Brown is a pacy winger but saw his games limited due to emergence of Frenchman Sofiene Zaaboub who is already contracted next season.

Ben Wells who signed a one year professional contract with Town at the end of last season did not do enough to impress manager Paul Sturrock and is now looking for a new club.

Striker Royce Brownlie who arrived from Queensland Roar under former boss Dennis Wise had been deemed surplus to requirements by Paul Sturrock and was sent on loan to Chester where he made 4 appearances. Brownlie has now left the club.
