Gurney Back In Blue Square South

Former Swindon Town defender Andy Gurney who had to retire from League Football due to an ankle injury has signed for Blue Square South side, Havant & Waterlooville.

Gurney who will be best known for his free kick against Leeds United in the Carling Cup now joins his third non league club in under a year.

Gurney signed for Clevedon Town after leaving Swindon with an ankle injury before moving on to Conference South side Weston Super Mare.

Gurney will now join former Swindon Town star Fitzroy Simpson at Havant & Waterlooville for the 2007/08 season.
