Rovers Fans Want Cheltenham

Bristol Rovers fans have spoken out saying they would prefer a switch to Whaddon Road whilst the Memorial Stadium is redeveloped.

A post on the Bristol Rovers Fans Forum stated 'Looking at todays comments from STFC in the WDP it sounds to me like their board may be seeking an exit strategy. There is clearly large opposition from their fans and local community groups ( who wouldn't blame them with massive police presence and potential parking problems every week) and our own supporters have expressed a preference for Cheltenham.'

Both sets of fans are weary of potential violence should the proposed ground share at the County Ground be given the go ahead.

Should Swindon accept a ground share with Rovers it is expected there will be a big backlash from fans.

The Swindon Town board of directors has said that the club would speak to fans at an open forum before making any decision on a ground share with Bristol Rovers.

There are rumours going around that Bristol Rovers could make an announcement as soon as tomorrow. Should this scenario take place it would likely mean the ground share arrangement would be with Cheltenham as no fans forum has yet been scheduled with Swindon Town fans.

Hopefully then Cheltenham have the pleasure of hosting them in their ground.

Good, the Whaddon Road area of Cheltenham is a dump - they will fit right in!!! Theyare used to playing in c**p, small grounds - it will be like home from home.

LOL well the Rovers fans got their wish. End of the day there was always going to be trouble here.

I think the STFC boards stalling tactics worked here, and forced the issue - we never wanted them here anyway only for the financial gain, but that was far outweighed by the problems I feel.
