Gareth Whalley On Trial At Bury

Former Swindon Town midfielder Gareth Whalley is on trial at League Two outfit Bury after being released by Town.

Whalley who was signed by former boss Andy King only featured in 2 games for Town last season due to injuries.

Manager Paul Sturrock deemed Whalley to be surplus to requirements at the County Ground and sent him on trial to Conference side Halifax Town prior to the end of the season, however Whalley failed to secure a Contract at the Shay Stadium.

Whalley was released from Town after the player and club agreed on a compensation deal prior to the club being promoted back to League One.
