Fola Onibuje Released By Wycombe

Fola Onibuje Released By Wycombe

Former Swindon Town striker Fola Onibuje has been released by Wycombe Wanderers after failing to secure a spot in the first team.

The 6'7 striker who came to Swindon under former boss Dennis Wise from conference side Cambridge United signed a 2 year deal with League Two side Wycombe after current Swindon Town boss Paul Sturrock told him he had no future at the County Ground.

Onibuje who was part of the Great Britain Athletics team had given up athletics for football however he has failed to hold a spot with a Football League side despite numerous trials. Onibuje's best asset by far is his pace however he see`s himself as a striker.

Onibuje looks destined to return to non-league football after his latest release.

I think the writing is on the wall for his footballing career - should have stuck to the athletics - he's one of the tallest and fastest players I've seen, trouble was he kept forgetting to take the ball with him.
