Altrincham Snap Up Gareth Whalley

Altrincham Snap Up Gareth Whalley

Midfielder Gareth Whalley who was released by Swindon Town at the end of last season has been signed by Blue Square Premier side Altrincham.

Whalley left Swindon after being told by manager Paul Sturrock he has no future at the County Ground after a disastrous 2 years at Swindon.

Most of Whalley`s time at the County Ground was spent on the sidelines due to various injuries after arriving under former manager Andy King prior to the 2005/06 League One campaign which saw Swindon relegated.

Altrincham were relegated to the Conference North last season but received a reprieve after Boston United were relegated due to financial concerns.
