Sam Parkin Could Miss Swindon Return

Former Swindon Town striker Sam Parkin could miss his long awaited return to the County Ground after picking up an ankle injury.

Parkin who started for Luton in last nights Carling Cup Round One clash with Hartlepool went off in the 68th minute during Luton`s 2-1 win.

Luton Town manager Kevin Blackwell has confirmed that Parkin has suffered yet another ankle injury however the team are currently unsure of the extent of the injury.

Parkin who was a cult hero at the County Ground scoring over 70 goals in 3 seasons, left Town for Ipswich at the end of the 2004/05 season to play in the Championship became Ipswich`s top goal scorer until an ankle injury forced him to the sidelines in October for the remainder of the season.

Jim Magilton decided that Parkin was not part of his plans and sold Super Sammy to Luton Town for £300,000 last season after turning down a chance to join Preston. Parkin scored one goal for Luton before the ankle injury he picked up at Ipswich returned. Parkin decided to go under the knife to fix the injury for good.

With Parkin`s latest injury it could force the former County Ground star to miss Saturday`s clash at the County Ground where he was sure to receive a heroes welcome.

We at Vital Swindon Town wish Super Sammy all the best as he fights off his latest injury.
