Fitton's Swindon Takeover Close?
Ramsbury based businessman Andrew Fitton hopes to confirm that he is the new owner of Swindon Town F.C next week according to BBC Wiltshire.
Fitton apparently told BBC Wiltshire that terms of the deal have been agreed and that he already has a blue print in place for the club.
Fitton also told the local media over the last 2 weeks that he is fully behind manager Paul Sturrock and he wants to take the club back to the Premier League.
Fitton has also stated that he would like to be part of a redevelopment of Swindon Town's County Ground Stadium to bring it up to date.
Fitton stated that Swindon Town are one of only a handful of teams over the last 20 years not to have a major redevelopment of their stadium.
It is thought when the deal is complete Mr. Fitton's consortium will pay a £900,000 CVA and pay off the tax man to clear the clubs historical debts.
Swindon Town are currently under a transfer embargo for not paying footballing debts however reports state that the club has paid this now and are awaiting for the embargo to be lifted by the Football League.
Should a deal not go through soon and all debts paid, Town could find themselves hit with a points deduction.
Town fans will not get their hopes up that the financial misery that has surrounded the club ever since they were in the Premier League will finally be lifted after a deal with BEST holdings collapsed last month.
