Swindon To Talk To Football League

Swindon Town will hold a meeting with the Football League this week to try and get the transfer embargo lifted which is hampering Paul Sturrock's team selection.

Town have been hit with a transfer embargo as they have not paid their footballing debts, however, with only 1 senior goalkeeper available thanks to a hernia to Phil Smith, Town will look to get this lifted.

Town boss Paul Sturrock has stated over and over that he needs to strengthen his squad if the team are to have aspirations of reaching the playoffs this season.

Town will welcome the news that Jack Smith came through Saturday's FA Cup match against Wycombe with no ill effects however should Peter Brezovan become injured Town would have to turn to youth team goalkeeper Mark Scott who has yet to get anywhere near the first team.

Good luck with the appeal to the Fa. I ams ure when you are down to bare bones especially in the goalkeeping department they will make an exception.

Can't see them fully lifting the ban till we sort ourselves out financially - they might let us loan a keeper though
