Town Pull Plug On Sky Programme

Manager Iffy Onuora has revealed on BBC Radio 5 Live Sportsweek that the Sky One Documentary featuring Ron Atkinson is off.

Iffy revealed that he did not feel comfortable having the camera's around the club and that they wanted more access than he was prepared to give them.

The series which was scheduled for Sky One was due to be called 'BIG RON MANAGER' however the project seemed doomed from the beginning.

Before the club had an official announcement it was leaked to several national newspaper's that Atkinson was joining Swindon Town as a director of football and would be assisting manager Iffy Onuora. Onoura hit back on the club's official website and local paper's saying 'I am the manager, he is here to film a TV Program'

Many fans saw this as a major publicity stunt to get Big Ron back in the game after his racist remarks got him sacked from his announce position, and not a tool to help promote the club. What better way to prove your not racist, by working with a black manager.

Iffy revealed the deal was worth approx. 100,000 and that Sky will look to still do the programme but with a different club. That club Iffy said was Barry Fry's Peterborough United.

Onoura finally went on to say he is more interested in keeping Swindon Town in League One than filming TV Shows.
