Swindon Town: That's Your Lot

Swindon Town: That's Your Lot

Swindon Town have conceded defeat in their battle to get the transfer embargo lifted so they can sign players before the loan window closes tomorrow.

The Football League has stated they will only lift the transfer embargo once the £900,000 CVA payment has been made. Swindon Town simply have no money to pay the CVA and therefore cannot get the embargo lifted.
'It is just not going to happen by Thursday,' said acting chief executive Martyn Starnes when talking about getting the embargo lifted.

Town are currently in negotiations with Andrew Fitton about taking over the club but these discussions are likely to go into early next week which will be too late to lift the embargo to sign players.

Oh well, much too be expected - lets roll up the sleeves and get on with it, the squad isn't that bad providing we don't get too many injuries...I'll clean me boots up ready just in case :-)
