Martin Allen Applies For Swindon Job

'Mad Dog' Martin Allen will apply for the vacant Swindon Town managers job.

Allen has had success leading Brentford and MK Dons to the playoffs before departing for Leicester City in the Summer.

Allen would be sacked by Milan Mandaric after rumours of a rift surfaced just 6 games into his reign at Leicester.

Allen was soon sacked and now looks as if he is ready to return to management in League One.

Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser, Allen was quoted as saying, 'I have not had any contact with anybody, but I will be writing to apply for the job and we'll just have to wait and see what happens.'

The Adver also revealed that Luc Nijholt and Shaun Taylor have thrown their names into the hat.

Nijholt would be a popular choice with Town fans having been overlooked last season in favour of Paul Sturrock.

Can someone sneek into the STFC office and file his application under 'B' for Bin please......
APG_STFC
dont think he would be all that bad , not to sure about nijholt as he has nt had that much experience in management
lawz1981
nijholt - why would he be the right man - what experience has he of league one/ championship. Might as well keep Byrne and williams
red_gilly
Nijholt took a division 2 dutch team into euro I believe.
STFC_Gazza
Having experience does not make you a good manager. There are alot of highly experience managers around who have never achieved anything. I like the idea of Nijholt.
