TrustSTFC To Secure Rescue Package

TrustSTFC is preparing for the worst. Should Swindon Town Football Club go into liquidation the Trust are sorting out a rescue package.

The club is facing financial ruin as the club`s proposed takeover was left in tatters last week.

Luckily the club and Fitton`s consortium have met every day since Friday to iron out any differences and get the deal done.

However should the takeover fail, TrustSTFC today have confirmed that should the worst happen they will be in the background waiting with a rescue package to save the club.

In a release sent to members the Trust state "We have a contingency plan for such an eventuality and the early stages of that plan are being put into effect, establishing discussions with the various parties that would need to work together to attempt to rescue the club should it go into receivership. In this we are receiving excellent advice and support from Supporters' Direct, who probably have more experience than anyone else of football clubs on the brink of extinction."

The Trust did go on to say they hope they end up wasting their time and that Andrew Fitton`s takeover of the club succeeds.

TrustSTFC did not mention any names of potential backers of this rescue package however most fans will speculate Bill Power and Phil Emmell would be willing to help after the club failed to talk to a Fans Consortium set up by The Trust and Power last year.

TrustSTFC has continually stated that the Fans Consortium will not go away and is still here.
