Fitton Reveals Swindon Vision

New Swindon Town chairman Andrew Fitton has revealed his vision for Swindon Town and wants the club back in the Championship within three years.

Speaking to the media prior to Town's match against Hartlepool, Fitton said, 'Our plan for this club is that we think it has a place in the Championship.

'If in three years time we are in the Championship I will have succeeded, if not I will have failed.'

The question came up, would Swindon Town get back to the Premier League? Fitton did not say never but wanted to establish the club at the second tier before moving that one step further, 'I don't think it is ever wise to say we'll be in the Premier League in five years time. Those are absurd ideas.' Fitton Said.

'Where this club should rightly be is a well established Championship club and once we get to that stage maybe other things can happen.'

Fitton was introduced to Town fans before the match and a banner saying 'There's Only One Andrew Fitton' was on show on the Stratton Bank.

It must be a nightmare to know where to start with the restructuring, early days and it ain't going to be an overnight thing.
