Swindon Have Not Contacted Allen

Skysports.com is reporting that Swindon Town have not been in touch with Martin Allen about the managers job at the club.

Allen has clearly not followed what has been happening at Swindon Town over the last few months as he was quoted as telling Sky Sports, 'I've no idea what the hold up has been as regards them appointing anybody."

Allen noted that the club had only just been taken over. Swindon Town F.C was near the brink of extinction and therefore there was no point in signing a manager until the future of the club was secure.

Andrew Fitton is believed to be keen on signing Martin Ling from Leyton Orient. Micky Adams and Steve Cotterill have both been linked with the vacant managers job at the County Ground.

Martin Allen was sacked after a poor start at Leicester as well as falling out with chairman Milan Mandaric.

Allen is still keen on the Swindon Town job and finished off his interview with Sky Sports by saying, 'I did enjoy my break, but I'm anxious to get back in and get back working and I would love to do so with Swindon Town.'

Don't like his track record of leaving clubs....

He would see us as a stepping stone to a bigger club. We need someone who cares about the club - ie an ex player

Unfortunately, no matter who the manager is, if a bigger club or adventure presents themselves..95% of all Managers will go for it. We need a passionate person who knows how to achieve high goals on a budget.
