Kanyuka Set To Join Swindon?

Rumours indicate that Former QPR defender Patrick Kanyuka who left the club by mutual consent on Tuesday could be set to join Swindon Town on Monday.

Kanyuka is described as a no-nonsense centre half on the Queens Park Rangers website however a string of injuries has seen Kanyuka make only 15 appearances for QPR since joining from Leyton Orient.

Maurice Malpas had revealed that he is looking to sign a defender on Monday and it appears that Kanyuka could fit the bill should be pass a physical at the County Ground.

Malpas was quoted as telling the press, 'A defender will be coming in on Monday, just to get tied up and signed, sealed and delivered and it will be permanent.'

With Kanyuka being available on a free transfer now this would pave the way to sign him without paying a fee.

Town will also be looking to ship players out of the squad with Mauro Almeida, Ibon Arrieta and Franklin Anzite set to be the first to leave the team.

Talking of QPR I wonder if Bill Power might reappear at Swindon. There is a link with a member of the new board to QPR. Just a thought, I liked BP his heart was in the right place.
