Cox So Close But So Far Away

Swindon Town are still hoping to announce they have signed striker Simon Cox despite the fact the deal looks to be in tatters.

There are mixed reports coming out of the media today.

The Gazette and Herald say the deal is in tatters because Reading want a sell-on clause for the striker whilst The official website has quotes from Maurice Malpas saying hinting that Cox is looking for personal terms that the club cannot afford to meet.

Cox made it clear he wants to join Swindon Town to the staff and to the media however with Northampton pushing to sign the striker it could go right down to the wire.

Town have met Reading's valuation of the players as have Northampton, its now up to Cox to decide, does he join Northampton who are building for the future of join Swindon Town who have a good chance of earning a playoff spot for promotion to the Championship.
