SWINDON TOWN
vs.
OLDHAM ATHLETIC

The County Ground

09/02/10

1945

The joyous occasion that was Leeds United has long gone - we've not lost since but Town have surrendered to leads late-on. Tonight Swindon welcome Oldham Athletic to the County Ground

Vital Quotes:

DANNY WILSON: "Olham are a big strong side, they're very competetive and will be a threat to us all night..."

DAVE PENNEY: "Swindon are a good side and we respect them, but equally I don't think we did too badly against them at home..."

SWINDON TOWN Team News:

Alan O'Brien is back in contention after being included on the bench last weekend.

Callum Kennedy, Alan Sheehan and Kurt Hammonds are out while Vincent Pericard remains a concern.

Player to watch: BILLY PAYNTER

He's the in form player in the division at the moment. He failed to score against Charlton Athletic and will be eager to get back to his scoring ways once again.

OLDHAM ATHLETIC Team News:

Jon Worthington, Kelvin Lomax, Andy Holdsworth, Rob Purdie and Lewis Alessandra are all out injured.

Hasney Aljofree could feature against his former employers while loan signings Jason Price, Jim Goodwin and Darryl Flahavan are all available.

Oldham side that beat Tranmere Rovers last Saturday

Dean Brill, Sean Gregan, Reuben Hazell, Joe Jacobson, Danny Whitaker (Chris Taylor 75'), Jim Goodwin, Dean Furman, Dale Stephens (Alex Marrow 82'), Jason Price, Deane Smalley, Paweł Abbott (Keigan Parker 78')

SNU: Hasney Aljofree, Joe Colbeck, Ryan Brooke, Darryl Flahavan.

Player to watch: CHRIS TAYLOR

He hasn't had the greatest of seasons thus far by his standards but on his day he is one of the best players in the division.

Mr. D. Deadman

Deadman's first officiated Swindon in October 2006 in the 1-0 loss at Wycombe Wanderers in the JP Trophy.

The next Town fixture was a year later, again in the JP Trophy and again a loss - this time to Cheltenham Town.

His last Town fixture was in September 2008, the 3-1 loss to Leeds United in League One.

So... three games and three losses... Great!

This season Deadman has been in control of 23 fixtures dishing out 64 yellow cards and sending off 5 players

This is a must win game for us tonight, the games in hand advantage will soon slip away if we dont win games like these, although i do predict a 2-1 win. Up the Town!!

If we are to be taken seriously as Play-Off contenders - which I don't believe we are - then we've got to get this fixture right. I don't fancy us getting much at Huddersfield on Saturday sowe need points on the board.
