Town look to bounce back from their Johnstone's Paint Trophy exit against Brentford by taking on John Ward's Colchester United.
Danny Wilson told BBC Radio Swindon that the Colchester match is 'a test of whether we can match the teams that are above us and say 'we're as good as you' and we'll be in the shake-up at the end.'
Vincent Pericard has picked up (another) minor injury and therefore will miss out.
Jonathan Douglas has returned to training but lacks match practice having recovered from a broken toe.
Simon Ferry and Kevin Amankwaah are still doubtful while Callum Kennedy has joined Gillingham on loan.
More goals please!
Simon Hackney and Steven Gillespie are injured but John Ward has forward Ian Henderson and defender Manus Ounghae back from injury.
Has re-discovered his form after a seven game drought. Mooney has three in his last two games and is talking up a stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium
Town and Colchester was a regular fixture throughout the 50's right up until the 1980's. However, Swindon's rise under Macari, Ardiles and Hoddle meant that Town would not meet United in the league between 1987 and 2000.
Town have the slightest edge in the league head-to-head having won 25, losing 24 and 15.
The last meeting resulted in Colchester beating Town by three goals to nil courtesy of goals from Ashley Vincent and a brace by Anthony Wordsworth.
David Prutton, Kevin Watson, Mark Yeates, Will Dixon, Keith Scott and Jamie Cureton are among the player to have featured at some point for both clubs.
1-1
Town travel to Rochdale on November 20.
