County Ground, Swindon

Saturday 29 July 2006

3 P.M K.O

UP NEXT: Reading

In their last pre-season friendly, Swindon Town entertain Premier League new boys, Reading at the County Ground on Saturday.

Vital Quotes:

'The Reading game will be a tester for us but we are coming together nicely now. Hartlepool is what it's all about and we are looking forward to it.'

- Swindon Town Manager Dennis Wise

Swindon Town Team News:

Swindon Town will be without Gareth Whalley, Andy Gurney, and Jack Smith. The fate of the club's trialists should be known prior to this match. This is Swindon Town's last friendly prior to the new season starting.

Player to watch: Jerel Ifil

Ifil has been solid at the back. Manager Dennis Wise has chosen not to bring in another defender thanks to Jerel's fine play this pre-season. Eyes will be on Ifil to see if he can maintain the momentum going into the season.

Reading Team News:

Reading will play this season in the Barclays Premier League. It is the first time in the club's history they have made it to the Premier League. Reading have won their last 4 pre-season games including a 4-1 win over Northampton over the weekend.

Player to watch: Leroy Lita

The former Bristol City striker will be looking to crack, Manager Steve Coppell's starting XI, after being sidelined with an ankle injury late last season. Lita scored against Northampton Town on the weekend.

Match Facts & Stats

The last time the 2 clubs met was on14th February 2002, where the clubs were held to a 0-0 stalemate infront of 9,264 fans at the County Ground.

Ref Watch:

I. Williamson will be the referee for this friendly.

Match Prediction:

Reading are on a roll, but Swindon have not played bad. If Swindon play the way they did against Crystal Palace there is no reason why the team cannot get something from this game, Predicting the score is quite difficult at this time.
