Swindon Town who are winless in 3 league matches, make the journey south this evening to take on financially stricken Portsmouth.
"I will always thank the club and everyone at the club at the time for what happened in my early days at Portsmouth, and those times have played a massive part in the player I am now.
"So for that reason I am looking forward to going back there now although I want to come away with the three points."
Swindon Town winger Matt Ritchie who previously played for Portsmouth.
Midfielder Connor Clifford won't play after his loan from Chelsea was not extended. Kevin Long who is on loan from Burnley has a back injury and won't feature. Lubor Michalik the former Leeds and Carlisle centre back could make his Portsmouth debut.
After failing to get a visa to remain with MLS side New York Red Bulls due to previous criminal convictions, Rodgers joined Pompey on trial in pre-season. Rodgers has always been a handful against Swindon Town.
Town are currently on a winless run of 4 after losing to Preston North End, Oxford United, Leyton Orient and drawing with Carlisle at the weekend. James Collins could be set for a re-call whilst Alan Navarro has returned from a knee injury.
Troy Archibald-Henville has been praised heavily by Paolo Di Canio, and was back on the bench against Carlisle. Archibald-Henville could start alongside Alan McCormack.
The last time the two sides played was back in 2000 with Pompey winning 4-1 with Lee Bradbury scoring a hat trick for Pompey whilst Adrian Whitbread rounded off the scoring for the home side.
Swindon haven't been the best away from home this season so we will say a 2-2 draw despite Portsmouth's problems.
Town return to League One action and welcome AFC Bournemouth to the County Ground Saturday at 3pm.
