Swindon Town return Capital One Cup action this evening against Premier League opposition, Aston Villa.
"They are obviously a Premier League side who are two leagues above us, and it will be a tough game,"
"we are talking about players like Bent, Agbonlahor and many others, and this is only a bad moment for them because they have injuries."
Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio
Swindon Town will be boosted by the return of Andy Williams after a month out with a calf injury. Midfielder Luke Rooney also returns from his loan spell at Burton Albion. Alan Navarro is still out with a knee injury as well as Nathan Thompson who is still recovering from a foot injury suffered just over a week ago. Town currently entered the game on a high after beating second placed Stevenage 4-0 away on the weekend.
James Collins will be looking to be the hero facing his former club. Collins scored against Stoke City at the Britannia so he certainly knows how to score against higher opposition.
Aston Villa have had a poor start to the season, gaining 6 points from their first 9 games and currently sit 17th, just above the Barclays Premier League relegation places after only winning 1 of their first 9 games. Villa have a slew of injuries and some big names will miss the match including Ciaran Clark, Nathan Baker, Jordan Bowery, Ashley Westwood, Richard Dunne, Charles N'Zogbia, Joey Bennett, Gary Gardner and Stiliyan Petrov. Aston Villa drew 1-1 away to Norwich City on the weekend.
Darren Bent has been frozen out by manager Paul Lambert and will likely start the match one would imagine. Bent will be hell erm.. bent on making a point to Lambert.
Swindon Town have played Aston Villa 11 times in all competitions and have a record of 2-3-6. The last time the 2 teams met was in the, then named, Carling Premier League when Aston Villa beat Swindon Town 5-0 at Villa Park in February 1994.
Stuart Attwell - Famous for allowing a goal that never even went into the net.
